Primary topic?
[edit]I don't think Nikolai Golovin can be considered the WP:primary topic of this disambiguation. The Russian general (not Soviet; he was anti-communist) was known as an historian, and emigrated from Russia just after the revolution. If you click on "what links here" on Nikolai Golovin, you get six articles. If you do the same on Nicholas Golovin, you get a single article, which lists, apparently a book this Golovin wrote, with the first name Nicholas, so he may (or may not) have written under this name. Do we know for sure he published under this name rather than "Nikolai"?
- We can't read the Wikipedia readers' minds, so how can we prove definition 1 ("most likely to be the topic sought")?
- "Long-term significance, ... substantially greater enduring notability and educational value"? Again, intangible.
It's not impossible to find information (and pictures) of the American (coincidentally also a native of Russia, possibly a related namesake?), so there very well could be an article on him soon. Just because it's not here yet (that only means that no one here knows about it), doesn't necessarily mean the topic is secondary, or not encyclopedically noteable. I don't think it's fair just to change it back to a redirect (which it started out as); that consigns the American to Wiki non-existence. JustinTime55 (talk) 20:19, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
