Revisions
[edit]Hi 79616gr, thank you for collaborating on the content for Niall Mellon. Let's agree on the most accurate, balanced format to represent the individual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41074KY (talk • contribs) 11:21, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
- That's the goal of any Wikipedia article, but airbrushing out or removing negative facts backed up by reliable sources creates a non reflective article. I agree with your main changes, but the two convictions, what they are for and who they involved should stay.79616gr (talk) 14:52, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your input and guidance on the content 79616gr. Agreed, the facts remain, as does the fact that Niall has remained abstinent since 41074KY (talk) 16:54, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
- There seems to be a fairly continual attempt by 2 SPAs to de signify Mellon's criminal convictions. To quote one of the sources cited in the article: "Mellon told the gardaí that he would “f**king embarrass them in court” and told them “you are bastards”. This is not merely being "rude" as the SPA would like the article to read. Being rude tends not normally to lead to criminal convictions. Mellon was arrested at the scene and convicted of breach of the peace. The judge in the case, Judge Halpin, told Mellon that his behaviour had been “inexcusable”. 79616gr (talk) 16:30, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
- The sockpuppet IP's need to be dealt with, should be reported either for vandalism or sockpuppetry. Edits like this can't be assumed to be done in good faith, and really should just be considered vandalism. -Xcuref1endx (talk) 21:03, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking this over. If they come back I'll take it up at ANI. 79616gr (talk) 03:25, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
