Name

[edit]

Why is it called "Newnham"? Is there any association with any of the historical places of that name listed here? Answer might be a useful addition.(Lobsterthermidor (talk) 10:20, 2 July 2014 (UTC))[reply]

It's called Newnham because it is just by Newnham village. girlwithglasses (talk) 17:35, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Section Paraphrased from Gillian Sutherland's History

[edit]

I know a more experienced Wikipedia editor would know how to deal with this directly, but rather than saying nothing or taking the time to figure out how to address it properly, I'm placing it here and hope someone else follows up:

The two paragraphs at the end of the "History" section and the first three in the "Women in the university" section are close paraphrases of Gillian Sutherland's History of Newnham. This source is not acknowledged, and, even if it were, such a close paraphrase is not appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SarahLawrence Scott (talkcontribs) 18:41, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Geographic location needs to be made clear

[edit]

As I post this, it's not clear in the article that this university is located in the United Kingdom. In the side infobox it just says "Location: Sidgwick Avenue." A regular editor here should add "Cambridge, United Kingdom" or "Cambridge, England, UK." Thanks. 5Q5 (talk) 11:58, 21 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed and done. Nedrutland (talk)
