Fair use rationale for Image:New Zealand forces with Viet Cong prisoners during the Vietnam War.jpg
[edit]Image:New Zealand forces with Viet Cong prisoners during the Vietnam War.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

References
[edit]There are footnotes here with no actual references attached - they just say things like 'holyoakequote' without any kind of indication of where this might have come from. --Helenalex (talk) 04:05, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
American Pressure
[edit]I have done considerable research on this, and have come to the conclusion that there was little pressure from the US on NZ. If there was pressure, it came from Australia, not the US. Please therefore provide references. Otherwise this what I believe is original research will be removed. Wallie (talk) 20:01, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

"Great Ghosts of the Forest"
[edit]I added that because of a movie on ANZAC day here in NZ. There is no link to this, and you would have to watch the whole thing if you wanted to see that quote. But yes, they did call them that. --121.72.220.33 (talk) 06:32, 18 May 2009 (UT

[edit]"Great Ghosts of the Forest" - that comes from an ill informed comment from a contributor to a thesis by Deborah Challinor titled "Grey Ghosts". It is a legend in the mind of the contributor and has no factual basis. It is, in fact offensive to 99% of New Zealand {Infantry} Viet Nam veterans.
