What are the names of the two pubs? Are they Free houses or tied?
Does Platts still have an electrical shop by the cross roads?
Is there still a butchers shop next to one of the pubs?
Do you have any information on the New Mill Brewery? 209.244.30.24323:49, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The 'White Hart' pub is on New Mill Road, and the 'Duke of Leeds' Hotel is on Sheffield Road. Next to the Duke of Leeds is Atkinsons Butchers. There is no Brewery in New Mill, at least not for the last 40 years. There is however the Summer Wine Brewery at Rock Cottage on New Mill Road in Brockholes about three miles away, which started in production in June 2006. They produce just four beers, all bottled, Elbow Grease (ABV 3.8%), Blackjack Stout (ABV 4.0%), Rudolph's Razzle (ABV 4.9%) and Woodland Rogue (ABV 5.7%).
