Notability

I've added a "Notability" template to this article, since the media sources cited all appear to be local ones (specifically, the New Britain Herald). In order to meet notability guidelines for corporations, there needs to be evidence of coverage in non-local media: see WP:CORPDEPTH, and specifically the paragraph headed "Audience", which states, "...attention solely from local media, or media of limited interest and circulation, is not an indication of notability; at least one regional, national, or international source is necessary."

The username of the article's creator, and the last paragraph of the article as of this writing, suggest that there's a family connection between the creator and the company. Please note WP:MEMORIAL: Wikipedia is not an appropriate venue to memorialize one's relatives and ancestors, or to publish family histories.

I'll watch this article for a few weeks to give the creator and others a chance to find evidence of non-local coverage; but if that isn't added, I'm afraid I'm going to have to submit it for WP:AfD. Ammodramus (talk) 15:06, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Addressing your issues one by one.

Notability. In the Audience section, it states that, as you mentioned above, "at least one regional, national, or international source is necessary." I believe I met that requirement when I made reference to the 1954 article in the National Cleaner and Dyer Magazine.

You are correct that there is a connection between the article's creator (me) and the company -- I am Rudolph's grandson. However, I don't see where that is relevant if I am stating factual information that can be backed up by referenced sources. Hopefully, you agree with me.

I made changes to the End of an Era section at the end of the article; I removed mention of the spouses dying. I think it's OK to leave in the fact that my grandfather, father, and uncle have all died since the article is about all of them and the fact that they are not living ties up loose ends (whether any are living or not). I'll defer to your judgment on this.

In what started as a two-person dry cleaning business in 1912 grew to become a strong and successful business presence in New Britain. The New Britain Dry Cleaning Corporation became the largest dry cleaning company in New Britain and one of the largest in central Connecticut before it was sold in 1974, 62 years after it was founded. Success was achieved through difficult times (World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II) and prosperous times (two postwar recoveries) because of Rudolph Kloiber’s, and later Edgar Kloiber’s and Woodrow Kloiber’s, strong visionary leadership, their good planning, a willingness to take calculated risks, and caring for their employees. This history would not be complete without mentioning the spouses of these successful men—Margaret Rau, Rudolph’s wife; Veronica Arbour, Edgar’s wife; and May Herrington, Woodrow’s wife. It has been said that behind every successful man, there stands a supportive woman and that was certainly true in the history of this company. Lastly, all the men who ran the New Britain Dry Cleaning Corporation, and their spouses, have died. Rudolph died in 1947; Margaret and Veronica died in 1969; Woodrow died in 1992; Edgar died in 2006; and May died in 2010.

This history was compiled by James W. Kloiber (Rudolph’s grandson; Woodrow's son) based on company documents, public records, and family history.

(Note: By willingness to take calculated risks, I mean buying land, building new buildings, buying new equipment).

Well, as wikipedia is a wiki, anyone can edit the page. That may be why that happens to you. I myself don't understand much about those types of issues, but from what you tell me, it makes sense to me that what you are seeing is the "edit" link whenever you get on, and if that was it, then that's the reason why it happens.

I see that you are related to the article's subject's founders. It's great to have you along, however, remember that wikipedia, and most wikipedians if not all, discourage writing that seems favourable to the subject and encourages writing that seems more neutral-point-of-view. Don't worry, through, I myself was told by others several times before I started writing in a way that seemed more neutral.
