File:NewAmsterdamUnitedLogo.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:NewAmsterdamUnitedLogo.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it describes an existing, active, soccer club, member of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League. Competing clubs have a presence on Wikipedia, and are not subject to deletion (below is provided a list of such clubs). Of course, this club might not have the same history as some of those, but should they wait 20 years to be eligible?

Barnstonworth Rovers
Hoboken FC
Greek American AA
FC Japan
NY Athletic Club
FC Partizani
S.C. Eintracht
Elizabeth S.C.
NY Pancyprian Freedoms

The club is mentioned in an article published in FirstTouch newspaper (online version here). — Preceding unsigned comment added by JeremyRampon (talkcontribs) 19:15, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As per the text, it does not meet notability requirements under FOOTYN and Wikipedia:Notability. -- Alexf(talk) 23:24, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
