Nevada Gaming Commission v State Gaming Control Board
[edit]Can someone update this article to explain why we have both of these related orginizations? I think we need two articles since there are links for both and they do have votes in what gets approved. Vegaswikian 05:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

History of its name
[edit]Google turns up awful lot of references in books from the 1960s and even long after, to the "Nevada Gambling Commission." Was that the Commission's original name? If so, when did the name change (presumably by legislation) to "Nevada Gaming Commission"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.178.22 (talk) 16:27, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
Is it copyvio?
[edit]A LTA has been repeatedly removing material from the page claiming it was a copyright violation. While WP:BMB and the person who reverted them was very much justified in doing so, the underlying issue might be less obvious.
The original text was added with the edit summary added text from book: History of Canada[sic] and in this way exact article is more complete and informative
, citing the 1987 book History of Nevada as a reference. While I don't have access to the book and cannot confirm whether the text does indeed match, the book's date of publication (first edition in 1973) means it is likely still copyrighted. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 21:32, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
