I cut this from this list:
- Johnny von Neumann, American racing car driver and entrepreneur
I can't find any evidence of notability on Google. For now the link rdrs to John von Neumann, the famous mathematician. -- phoebe (brassratgirl) /(talk) 08:28, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Johnny von Neumann definitely existed and was not the same person as John von Neumann the mathemetician... try searching for John von Neumann with "racer" "Ferrari" or "MG" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.100.254.232 (talk) 04:12, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Pertti Neumann
[edit]Pertti Neumann has no real connection to this German surname. He was born Pertti Nieminen. He adapted the artist name Neumann, which he later also took as his official surname. Should the entry be changed to say "Pertti Neumann (born Pertti Nieminen)"? JIP | Talk 19:31, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- Well, it is hard to say he has no connection: he assumed it, right? In modern times person's surname often has no relation to person's nationality or origin. But of course, a clarification will not hurt. --Altenmann >talk 21:25, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- The only connection Pertti Neumann has to the surname Neumann was that he thought "Neumann" would make a nice artist name. To the best of my knowledge, he was not related to any person named Neumann at the time. He is related to such people now, as his own surname and the surname of his children is now Neumann. Anyway, I have altered the entry to say "Pertti Neumann (born Pertti Nieminen)". JIP | Talk 22:45, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
