The importance of this article is quite clear in my opinion - this was a multi-casualty terrorist attack which took place in a central area of a major city in Israel. I do not understand why you think this incident was trivial. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 04:07, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the lasting coverage or effects that would pass WP:EVENT. All the in-depth discussion is news that doesn't go far beyond when the event actually occurred; all later mentions are trivial, usually in the same breath with a number of other attacks. Roscelese (talkcontribs) 04:15, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I strongly disagree with you. This is not a minor criminal incident only mentioned in some local news for a short while. This is a multi-casualty terrorist attack committed against a large group of civilians, which has left dozens of people injured and killed, which was part of a large series of mass casualty terrorist attacks that took place in Israel during that period of time and which had a great impact on Israel's policy (have you heard about the Israeli West Bank barrier?). In addition, it is worth noting that this event was widely covered in the media throughout the world. Either way, I suggest that now after we both have voiced out opinions on the matter, we wait and see what the other Wikipedians' opinion is on this matter. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 05:51, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Something that might help would be adding references that demonstrate that this has had an impact on Israeli policy. Roscelese (talkcontribs) 06:12, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How about this one? TheCuriousGnome (talk) 06:43, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure you linked the correct article? That article ran before the bombing took place and so, unsurprisingly, does not mention it. Roscelese (talkcontribs) 06:54, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Or this one? TheCuriousGnome (talk) 06:51, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That article also appears to have run, in a slightly different form, before the bombing took place. What's up? Roscelese (talkcontribs) 06:59, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How about this one then? TheCuriousGnome (talk) 15:19, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yet another article from before this event. Really, what's up? I understand if you're confused because the Newsbank page gives the wrong date, but surely the fact that the article makes absolutely no mention of this bombing should be a clue? Roscelese (talkcontribs) 18:29, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This one was clearly written after the event. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 21:59, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this is a clear-cut case, and if anyone believes the article should be deleted, it should be taken to AfD. Moreover, the article passes GNG and I'm sure many would also say that multi-casualty terrorist attacks are inherently notable, especially in Israel which is disproportionately covered by sources, and especially suicide bombings. I will try to add as much content as possible to the article and remove the PROD tag a day or two from now if no one else does. You might have a case for deletion at AfD though. —Ynhockey (Talk) 17:30, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
