NetApp is not an Irish company
[edit]User:Somerandomeronline (Wikipedia:Single-purpose account) incorrectly edited this article on 18 October 2024 to claim that NetApp is now based in Cork City, Ireland. But there has been no news coverage whatsoever that NetApp has redomesticated to Ireland or completed a tax inversion. If you look at NetApp's latest securities filings, it is still holding itself out as a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in San Jose, California.
If User:Somerandomeronline has inside knowledge of an imminent redomestication that has not yet been publicized, the edit is grossly inappropriate because WP is not a first publisher of original research (see WP:NOR) and they may also face significant personal legal consequences. We are talking about a publicly-traded company. Anyone involved in a redomestication would be under professional rules or a NDA to not talk about it until it is actually announced.
More likely, it appears that User:Somerandomeronline is an outsider who has grossly misinterpreted the cited source, which merely announced that NetApp selected Cork for its international headquarters. However, that source did not announce that NetApp was actually moving its global headquarters to Cork or becoming an Irish company. Any objections before I fix this mess? - It might be an honest mistake, as I don't think everyone understands the subtle difference between global headquarters and international headquarters. But yes, the headquarters should be restored to San Jose (there is already an annual report cited in the infobox verifying this). Ptrnext (talk) 07:34, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
