Wrong photo
[edit]The photo of Times Square should be replaced by one that shows actual neon tube lighting. While it shows the bright lights there none are identifiably neon tubes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobjuch (talk • contribs) 18:29, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Wrong caption
[edit]The photo is of 42nd Street, I believe, not Times Square. Oops! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.179.253.250 (talk) 11:51, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
- Sounds right; caption revised slightly. Easchiff (talk) 17:52, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
antiques?
[edit]Through the 1970s, neon glow lamps were widely used for displays in electronics, for small decorative lamps, and as electronic devices in themselves. While these lamps are now antiques,
Slightly odd comment - miniature neons are still used in huge numbers as mains power indicators. 86.29.7.158 (talk) 20:36, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
- Good point. I edited the sentence in the lede to mention the indicator lamp usage explicitly, and to clarify that the use of neon lamp devices in signal processing is antiquated. You are very welcome to edit articles directly! Easchiff (talk) 11:21, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
