Hi there, I have concerns that some of the constructions and phrasings used in this article are too close to those used by the sources, particularly this source. I would suggest this article be checked carefully and overly close paraphrasing be reworded. Nikkimaria (talk) 13:40, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Part of the problem, I think is, that copying-and-pasting text from a source (aside from a direct quotation) leads to infringment. I know people do that, meaning to change wording enough to make it OK, but that is rarely enough, because infringement applies to structure, not just to word choice. For example, this is not OK:
"then flew the F-4D and F-16 at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea. Later he commanded the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing at Kunsan, then served as deputy director for international negotiations, J-5, the Joint Staff, Washington, D.C." (in the source)
"then flew the F-4D and F-16 at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea. While at Kunsan, he also commanded the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing. He served as deputy director for international negotiations, with the Joint Staff, in Washington, D.C." (in the article)
Wikipedia contributors need to understand the info in the source, then summarize/reorganize its main points in your own words. Copy/paste is an enemy here, it is not a friend. Here is a resource I've found very helpful on doing it right.[1]
I removed some very close paraphrasing. Please select from that material (and other sources) items you think are important and present them in your own words to expand the article, ok? Sharktopustalk
