Assessment

[edit]

I rated this article at C Class, as I noticed some weird prose and a lack of in-line citations at certain points. I think with a bit more improvement, this can easily become a B Class article. WP:RATER shows a a 41.8% prediction of B tier, so it's pretty close already as I said. Pac-Man PHD (talk) 03:57, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @Pac-Man PHD for the assessment. I see there are 4 references to Ancestry.com which is not considered to be a reliable source. I did ce the lead for better readability (smaller paragraphs vs. one long content). Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 15:58, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did not notice that. Thanks for the edits. Pac-Man PHD (talk) 18:41, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Pac-Man PHD for the assessment. I originally added material to expand this article from a stud and I have been rewriting it recently for better flow and readability for non-baseball fans. Is asking for an assessment after revising the article the best way to proceed in this situation? Onagtruk (talk) 18:07, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is a question to address the ancestry references @JoeNMLC. I have used ancestry references in this and other articles, but the references used are government document such as the census and draft cards. Should I reference the documents themself and omit that the were discovered on ancestry? I use ancestry as a document research tool, but the documents obtained from the site are solid sources. How should I proceed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Onagtruk (talk) 18:07, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
