Bob the Builder

[edit]

There's no mention of his role as the vocal talent in Bob the Builder. Could this be added? Chem-MTFC (talk) 09:32, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gay rights activist?

[edit]

Since when? What evidence is there of this? I've asked for a citation. Elsewhere I've slightly updated the MBB info, as it originally suggested he had replaced Harry Enfield in the role of Tony, when in fact Tony was a new role. 195.188.40.144 09:26, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Smurfmeister[reply]

Pioneering ethnobotanist?

[edit]

I'm unable to do so, but I believe the information covered in this programme Neil Morrissey's Secret should be included. It covers details about his botany work and his PhD.

Hmm. I'm unable to independently confirm some of the facts mentioned. Apparently, he earned his PhD at King's College London, yet the KCL alumni page has no record (however, it might not be complete). Nor can I find his name in connection with any of the salient points.

Spoof documentary

[edit]

I'm afraid that documentary was a hoax. He doesn't have a PhD, nor has he any interest in ethnobotany. He went straight from a successful career in burglary to the Guildhall School.

Clearly, I'm an idiot. Although, in my defence, I was suspicious enough to attempt to verify the information. I shall now hide in shame. 86.130.209.16 22:50, 17 March 2006 (UTC) - An idiot.[reply]

Absolutely not. My girlfriend was absolutely taken in by the whole thing, as I'm sure many others were. The entire reason I looked here was to try and disprove her (and allay my own nagging suspicions). It's listed in a couple of TV listings sites as a spoof, and I remember reading an interview with him in the Times where there was no mention of University, but a lot about how to break into houses. --82.39.121.222 22:59, 17 March 2006 (UTC) - A total cynic.[reply]

I hate to say it but what about the legalities? Is BBC3 Allowed to tell us it's a documentary and list it under the documentary section of their site if it's not true? Documentary being defined as:

  • relating to or consisting of or derived from documents
  • a film or TV program presenting the facts about a person or event
  • objective: emphasizing or expressing things as perceived without distortion of personal feelings, insertion of fictional matter, or interpretation; "objective art"

Granted they don't say it's a true story either, but the definition covers that. Neil does miss a lot of awards, he does own property and bars in Wales and is currently trying to buy a high class hotel in Scotland. It's an amazing story either way, part of me wants to believe it's true, but for the sake of those nomads, I hope it isn't... but as the first post says, nothing bar that programme confirms any of this information... :-( Slicksps 00:10, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Conclusive evidence - See this page and search it for the word 'neil' I'm astounded, it's one hell of a great story, and obviously very well presented!

Fair use rationale for Image:Kusan.jpg

[edit]

Image:Kusan.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 23:50, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Death

[edit]

Some sites are reporting that Neil has died. However, no more respected site or publication has stated this. I feel this may a hoax. Does anyone have any further information? 41.245.156.10 (talk) 14:37, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Best known for...

[edit]

Boon? Really? Who wrote that? Surely he is infinitely far more known as Tony in Men Behaving Badly (which is still regularly repeated on channels like Dave and GOLD), having first gained attention in Boon? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.254.76.230 (talk) 17:53, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Amanda Holden

[edit]

Why is there nothing on his well documented affaire with Amanda Holden which led to her divorce from Les Dennis? Rustygecko (talk) 05:39, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is very well documented - example:https://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/the-backlash-over-my-affair-with-neil-morrissey-was-the-worst-time-of-my-life-says-amanda-holden-7256112.html Rustygecko (talk) 05:43, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Here’s an article in which Morrissey himself discusses the affaire.
https://m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/news/no-apology-over-affair-morrissey/29921700.html Rustygecko (talk) 06:01, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, the affair is in Holden’s Wiki page, with the bbc link detailing the events
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/2609359.stm Rustygecko (talk) 06:06, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This Wiki states that Neil Morrissey has been a partner of Amanda Holden since 2000 but if you look at AM’s wiki it says that Amanda was engaged to Chris Hughes since 2006 and that they were married in 2008.
obviously Morrissey isn’t interested in what’s being said here. 2A02:C7C:62E2:C100:4DC5:4732:4D46:59D (talk) 19:27, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
