Suspension

[edit]

[Copied from Help desk by Mandruss]

Please note that this article has been removed by Kent online and has not been factually correct for some time. They have removed it - please remove from wiki. - Neil francis — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neilfrancis (talkcontribs) 09:19, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article: Neil Francis (broadcaster) ‑‑Mandruss  09:27, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What is the "this article" that has been removed? ‑‑Mandruss  09:29, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Considering OP's mention of "Kent Online", I would guess that they're talking about the second reference in the Neil Francis article. The reference, by the way, was an article that is no longer online. Dismas|(talk) 09:33, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see. The Kent article is not archived at Wayback and I don't know how to check Webcite. So I guess the thing to do is delete the dead ref and keep the information with the one good one? ‑‑Mandruss  09:41, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I checked Wayback as well and didn't find it. I'm not sure what to do in these cases. Dismas|(talk) 09:47, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There are several other sources for this, but all appear to be very brief statements and I don't know how to check for WP:CIRC. The Radio Today source appears to be dated the day before the information was first added to the article. ‑‑Mandruss  09:52, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Neilfrancis: My take is that there is no justification for removing the suspension from the article; is it sufficiently sourced in the Radio Today article. If you can provide a reliable source stating that the suspension was lifted, I think that could (and should) be added to the article. But please don't attempt to edit the article yourself, per Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines. ‑‑Mandruss  10:15, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yahoo cache has the complete article (cache pages are apparently blacklisted- change out the [dotcom] for dot.com http://98.139.236.92/search/srpcache?p=neil+francis+jim+davidson&fr=goodsearch-yhsif&param1=901287079&ei=UTF-8&u=http://cc.bingj [dotcom] /cache.aspx?q=neil+francis+jim+davidson&d=4842671453974650&mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&w=YaVMynyuCf2aMXZl6h2hDeUsgR2AarJr&icp=1&.intl=us&sig=JLPosFxse8ZZrHB4BU9jkw-- ), and a search of kent online has the headline from the article that verifies the content used here [1]. a source does not have to be available on line for it to be used. Notability

[edit]

The suspension is WP:BLP1E if he is a non-notable person (although he is arguably high-profile as a radio presenter). We only have one source outside of that, which is also about hiring/firing. Without more sources this looks notability can be challenged. Widefox; talk 15:38, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
