WHat position did he play?

[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Hey, it's great someone added a photo. But, there's 4 people in that shot, which one is he? Use the Caption line in the infobox to identify him. Echoedmyron (talk) 14:17, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ice hockey vs hockey in lead

[edit]

Per consensus at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Archive66#Ice hockey or just hockey?, the lead sentence should indicate Broten as a former ice hockey player specifically, not the more general hockey. Echoedmyron (talk) 14:38, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This keeps happening. Again, per consensus, we do not use the general hockey but instead use the specific ice hockey for describing ice hockey players. Echoedmyron (talk) 16:41, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You do not have consensus. Hockey is played on ice by default. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:EA00:101:1402:BC4B:9B6D:DBD1:2C20 (talk) 19:01, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@2607:EA00:101:1402:BC4B:9B6D:DBD1:2C20: Please stop changing it. Hockey is a fairly generic term for most games played with a stick. In most the world, it is field hockey. Only about 10 countries (of over 200) is ice hockey more commonly known just hockey. Yosemiter (talk) 20:40, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I should be the one to ask *you* to please stop changing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:EA00:101:1402:BC4B:9B6D:DBD1:2C20 (talk) 20:50, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@2607:EA00:101:1402:BC4B:9B6D:DBD1:2C20:Per WP:BRD, you were Bold, we reverted, now we discuss while it is the former state. However, this is an open-and-shut case. We have international readership, and articles reflect that. Hence we must clarify ice hockey since to most people hockey is played on grass. Also, you are changing a link to the wrong target. The link you are making goes to the article explaining all the different forms and history of the name Hockey. So Stop. Yosemiter (talk) 20:56, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, no. I am being accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:EA00:101:1402:BC4B:9B6D:DBD1:2C20 (talk) 21:01, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The introduction should clearly mention ice hockey as the sport. All subsequent mentions can be shorted to hockey once it is clear which sport is being played. The article hockey demonstrates that many variants of the game are played in the world, and it is necessary to clarify in the introduction which type is played. No IP, you're being annoying. Therefore, the solution is to have you blocked. GoodDay (talk) 21:08, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:EA00:101:1402:BC4B:9B6D:DBD1:2C20 (talk) 21:10, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked the IP. From the article history it's clear this isn't the first time they've gone on this crusade against consensus.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:16, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
