This page title is in error. There has never been an entity called "Bob Wilson Naval Hospital". This hospital is still "Naval Medical Center San Diego" and has never had the name in the title.
Civilian or not, he/she is right - the page title is wrong. It is still named Naval Medical Center San Diego, and has been for the last 2 1/2 years I was stationed there (ending in Jan 2010).
Naval Medical Center San Diego is the name of the entire complex, and the main hospital is named Bob Wilson Naval Hospital. This is a little bit arbitrary, much like Qualcomm stadium is where the Chargers play, while the field name remains Jack Murphy. The name of the page probably should be NMC San Diego, but as long as Wikipedia is willing to redirect, I'm OK with it.
The staff at this facility, at the hospital where a unit identification marker entitled "NAVMEDCEN SDIEO". Letter head signed by the hospital directors reads Naval Medical Center San Diego. The military message address reads Naval Medical Center San Diego. The hospital is dedicated to Bob Wilson, informally when opened, and officially in 2008. All official correspondence and orders also read Naval Medical Center San Diego. The US Navy has a number of hospitals and clinics dedicated to individuals but they do not actually name their hospitals, clinics, or compounds after the names of people like the Army does. Sometimes the name of the dedication is even on the front of the building. No one knows this facility as Bob Wilson Naval Hospital unless they come to Wikipedia. YOu could ask 1000 staff members at the hospital and maybe 2 would know who it's dedicated to and that's because the main entrance road is named Bob Wilson Drive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.13.123.131 (talk) 18:29, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
