Copy editing and prep for GA review
[edit]Hello! I am responding to the copy edit request left on the Guild of Copy Editors request page. The text of the article is good, I only made a few changes. If you are preparing this for GA review, then I think there are several more things you should add to this article before then.
- The primary need is for a strong lead. Things that I think should be mentioned in the lead are: the Druk tradition, the constitution, the monarchy, and more about the mythology if possible.
- In general, I feel like there is a lot more history and background needed for this to be a good article. You should probably try to find additional sources to help complete the story.
- The sections on the flag and the emblem also need to be expanded to include more than just a quote. The main flag article has a good depth, so I think you can bring out more information from that article into this one.
The article is off to a good start, but it stills needs a little more content before it should be nominated for GA. Good luck and happy editing! --Tea with toast (talk) 04:30, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback! I re-wrote the intro to be a little longer. I'm not very inclined to expand on the flag, emblem, or history, though I think the above suggestions are excellent. If anyone out there is interested in expanding the rest of the article, please have at it! JFHJr (㊟) 08:47, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for nominating this page in the interest of expanding the coverage of Bhutan on Wikipedia. As a reviewer, I'm here to help ensure this article is the best it can be. With a quick Google search I came up with this link, which provides many more symbols of Bhutan than are listed here. I'd like to see this article expanded significantly and more thoroughly researched. Do you think you have the time to invest in doing that over the next couple of weeks? If so, I'll put the article on hold. If not, you could withdraw the nomination and I'll be happy to come back to it after it's been expanded. -- Lemurbaby (talk) 19:31, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- This article was modeled after current GA article National symbols of Belarus. Spongie555 (talk) 20:50, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- I've contributed significantly to what's currently here, but I don't have much more time to invest in further editing it over the next couple of weeks. I'll keep at it when I can, though. Two comments: this link shows the same additional information as above but is published by the government (MoHCA, Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications) rather than an unsourced travel agency; and I think it's safe to say there've been no edit wars per the description in the GA criteria. Just copy editing and changes based on reviewers' suggestions so far, which have been helpful. Cheers. JFHJr (㊟) 21:33, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- I will try to expand the article this weekend if I can. Spongie555 (talk) 22:10, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
- Actually i will be busy this weekend so you can withdraw it. Spongie555 (talk) 04:37, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- I've added more information from the external link above and other sources. And images! Some material has also been corrected. Does this look closer to complete? JFHJr (㊟) 17:18, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's much closer to complete, but the lead is still a bit on the short side given the length of the article. -- Lemurbaby (talk) 15:22, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
