[edit]The map appears to be wrong, as Rakiura is white (should be green). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.240.61.2 (talk) 07:39, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Te Urewera
[edit]Te Urewera is no longer a national park. I don't mind if its listed as a former nat park, but so far two editors (incl one admin) have re-added it with "The largest of four national parks in the North Island." Is there something I'm missing here? -- haminoon (talk) 03:54, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- Listing it as a former national park seems like good idea. Some articles indicated its still a national park. I mistook was for is on the Te Urewera article. Maybe Te Urewera National Park should have been redirected to Te Urewera. Its a little strange having an article for a national park when it no longer is one. First sentence says 14 national parks. I think the first link should be deleted as its out of date. Aaabbb11 (talk) 04:15, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- Because it appears to be developing into something very different from a national park it may be best to leave it out of the table and put a note about it underneath the table. The size of the former park is redundant now. -- haminoon (talk) 04:35, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- How about a new section for former national parks? You can copy info I replaced in description box. Aaabbb11 (talk) 04:47, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- Te Urewera is a pretty special case. I don't think will ever be any other former national parks in NZ. -- haminoon (talk) 04:55, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- Is there a ball park estimate of its size? Seeing it was the largest nat park in north island it could be useful. If not, could put in NA. Aaabbb11 (talk) 05:33, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
- I guess approx 2000. -- haminoon (talk) 08:11, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

It appears Whirinaki Forest Park changed status in 2012. I'll look into that tomorrow. -- haminoon (talk) 05:03, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
