Disputed Registrations in Carmel
[edit]I can't find either the Golden Bough Playhouse or the Forest Theater in the NRHP's database (refreshed January 9 of this year) or in their Recent Listings pages for 2007. It looks as though Smatprt is correct and these properties are not listed. Perhaps they are California State Landmarks? Some people conflate the two. In any case, I'm reverting to Smatprt's edit. If anyone can provide evidence that the properties in question belong on this list then they can restore them. Whyaduck 05:58, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Did a search on the NRR site, National Register of Historic Places. Neither exists. However, I am aware of a concern about its supposed demolition because I had seen a TV report about it being a historic site. Here is one reference to that Golden Bough theatre may be demolished. I think I now know why someone may have editted them into the California list of Historic Landmarks. In the paragraph entitled, A dramatic memorial, an engineer used the term, "significant" which is "a designation defined by the National Register of historic resources".
- Part of the problem was your deletion without an edit summary or more importantly a discussion on the List of Registered Historic Places in California talkpage which I now see took place. I will do an interim save to read what is going on there as I am playing catch now.
- Note - Comments appear disjointed because they started on my userpage; were moved to my usertalkpage and finished here. Ronbo76 18:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- (Finishing comments) If I am a new visitor to a page, I generally discuss whatever changes or deletions I feel are necessary on its talkpage. If I am acting as a Recent changes editor, I do not always have that luxury as I may matching wits with vandals. This page has been on my Watchlist for a while and other senior WP:CAL editors have not removed the entries perhaps for the same reason as me - it may have been inserted and no one caught the error. Me, being fat, dumb and happy knew just enough to be dangerous and danger caught up to me in the form of an error on my part. Sometimes I do make errors and this one seems to be that case.
- I do apologize to Smartprt and will remove the message template by overstriking my comments on her talkpage. Ronbo76 17:53, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks everyone for verifying. My mistake for not providing a summary. Oh...and I'm a him, not a her.... Smatprt 18:06, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Napa listings
[edit]I was just reviewing the Napa County list and I think it includes items that are on the State of California list but not on the NRHP list. I've traced a couple of the additions to edits made by User:63.194.52.252 on April 4, 2007 (diff). Unfortunately, the database for the search feature at the NPS website is only updated through January 9, 2007. I don't just want to undo this user's edits without first confirming that the places are not on the current NRHP list. Is there somewhere I can find a complete NRHP list? I know I can open each of the weekly update links on the NRHP search page, but I'd prefer to avoid that tedium. --Sanfranman59 (talk) 19:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
How do you report a bug?
This page has been hacked in Wikipedia. Someone fix it: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/National_Register_of_Historic_Places_listings_in_Alameda_County,_California —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boback (talk • contribs) 02:18, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Formatting
[edit]Hey, nice job with formatting this state NRHP list. I like the 2 columns of photos next to the table of counts by county. Hopefully, though, you can get a clickable version of the California counties map? Anyhow, it beats the formatting of the List of RHPs in NY (which also does not have a clickable map). Good stuff. :) doncram (talk) 18:40, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
