Reasons for starting this page

[edit]

Most of the national libraries of the list of national libraries have their own page, able to provide more information than just the list. In addition, the planned clean-up of the list means removing the barely used column giving the number of items (precisely used for Albania). This information is better provided in the Infobox_library, to which I transferred the available figure (updated and rounded according to the library's website). I also added one information I have which is not in the list of national libraries. More should follow, not obligatorily by me. If, despite this explanation, you decide to delete this page, please inform me so that I can save it in my sandbox for future use, when I get enough material to escape this immediate warning. Anticipating its possible deletion, I've copied it to my sandbox already. I think the reason for deletion is that as it stands right now, it's not an article, it's just an infobox. It needs some text describing what it is, at the very least. -kotra (talk) 20:48, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, kotra, for your help. I agree that the content is quite thin. Since we've got the information transferred from the list of national libraries - I'll also make a copy in my sandbox, just in case - we can wait until more information is available. Shall I then remove the 'hangon' tag and write to Juliancolton that I don't oppose the speedy deletion anymore ? Clpda (talk) 21:04, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, all that needed to be done was to give it some context, then the speedy deletion tag could've been removed. I went ahead and did both. Hope you don't mind, I replaced the sentence you added, though no information was lost. Anyway, it no longer meets WP:CSD#A1, so I removed the tag as per its instructions. It still is a stub that should be expanded, but it's not urgent anymore. -kotra (talk) 21:43, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, great work! I just moved the stub flag on top. The added sentence you removed was not from me but from a colleague (a recent change patroller, as her page states). Best Clpda (talk) 22:03, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, my bad. I got an edit conflict as I was writing the expansion and assumed it was yours. I've moved the stub template back to the bottom as per Wikipedia:Stub#Categorizing_stubs. -kotra (talk) 22:38, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
