Split is necessary

[edit]

This page must be divided into two different paged because there are actually two different awards - one is Special Jury Award, the winners of which receive an actual award, and Special Mention, whose winners receive just a mention, as in a positive and encouraging feedback. This is not fair to mention them all in one page. Opinions? ShahidTalk2me 23:07, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I second that. These are 2 different awards. As per the official catalogue by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, it is treated differently. But then dont degrade it by saying 'actual' award and 'just' a mention. Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 23:17, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I do not degrade, I'm stating facts and not trying to belittle any kind of recognition. The Jury Award is an actual award, and the Special Mention is just a mention, which I think is wonderful because as I said it is used to acknowledge artists for their efforts and encourage them to keep doing good and better work. ShahidTalk2me 23:24, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not again Shahid. :) Though I support you and do understand the point raised. Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 23:30, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Split proposal

[edit]

I propose this article should be split into National Film Award – Special Jury Award (Feature Film) and National Film Award – Special Mention (Feature Film). Both are two distinct awards. Special Jury Award is an annual award like the rest while Special Mention is not given regularly, as the name suggests, it's a mention given by jury members to a work/performance worth appreciating but has not received any award. Special Jury Award receives a cash prize, certificate and plaque while Special Mention receives no cash prize but a certificate and plaque. Both needs a separate article with a separate lead summary and infobox and present infobox looks bloated by including both awards.--Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 09:22, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I say be bold and go for it. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:23, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Go ahead! Just make sure we change "Feature Film" to "Feature film". - Vivvt (Talk) 14:41, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, it's been over two weeks and seems like there's no objection. I'm splitting the page. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 07:50, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
