Question

[edit]

Concerning that Spanish frigate in Trujillo, in 1639: Did he pay ransom or collect ransom? I would think that if you capture someone's frigate, you would make THEM pay ransom. So maybe it's supposed to read "and was later paid 16,000 pesos" instead of "and later paid 16,000 pesos". Maurice Fox 18:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He captured a Spanish frigate and later collected 16,000 pesos from the town, however, it does not specify if he ransomed the ship or simply looted the town. MadMax 18:26, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Military History

[edit]

Not sure whether piracy is included in military history. If you don't like it, remove it.  ;-) -- Avocado 20:44, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
