Narre Warren/Fountain Gate - So White - So Hanson?

[edit]

Is it true Pauline Hanson received one of the highest votes in the Narre Warren/Fountain Gate area?

Pauline Hanson was not a candidate for Holt, so did not recieve any votes --Crazycrazyduck 05:55, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- Narre Warren was divided between Holt and La Trobe. Hanson's party did not run in Holt, and the relevant booths in La Trobe received 4% - one of the lowest in an outer suburban region in Australia. The Dems got around 8% btw. The picture at Senate level was very similar (around 4% average). They seem to have done very poorly in Victoria overall - I can't find any urban areas where HAN/ONP got over 10%. Compare with Oxley and Blair where they got 35% in some parts, and outer suburbs in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney where around 17-20% was the norm. Only ten years old?

[edit]

From the article: "Narre Warren is one of the youngest suburbs of Melbourne, only being 10 years old." And "Narre Warren Post Office...opened on 21 January 1869."
