Crawbob?

On a linguistic note.... As a displaced local, I'm not entirely familiar with the term crawbob - craybob, yes - but I can't remember anyone saying the former.... I always though crawbob was more of an Americanism.

Anyway, I think dialectal terms should probably be avoided in such usage. Even yabby is stretching it. Since regionalisms are so varied in Australia - perhaps freshwater crayfish is sufficient...

Definitely not an Americanism; I Googled "catching crawbobs" and got four hits, all Australian. In America we call our miniature freshwater lobsters "crayfish," "crawfish," or "crawdads."65.213.77.129 (talk) 15:49, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
