Tonic

[edit]

I've always associated that word specifically with Massachusetts. I remember once when I was a cashier at a dollar store in Maine, where I've lived for about 10 years, I heard a woman ask me to "leave the tonic out of the bag". Immediately I asked where in Massachusetts she was from. I've yet to hear anyone from Maine say "tonic" that way, though like I said I haven't lived here all my life, so perhaps it was more common in the past. Soap 00:38, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
