Proposed merge
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- To merge Shaukat Ali Khan of Nagar into the alternative, more specific, target of Mir Shaukat Ali Khan. Klbrain (talk) 00:22, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
Reliable sources do not provide sufficient details to maintain a standalone article. TrangaBellam (talk) 13:31, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support - Yes it is only a two sentence article. Merge it unless it is expanded.
- Oppose as the ruler of a state is sure to be notable. I’ll look for some more information and sources to add. Moonraker (talk) 21:57, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- Support - per nom. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:07, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Note I have now expanded the page. I am also going to move it, as all the reliable sources use the spelling Shaukat. Moonraker (talk) 18:14, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Another note In moving the page I have now found that we already have a better one for Mir Shaukat Ali Khan, who is the same person, so we may be able to agree that this page should be merged to that one. Moonraker (talk) 18:21, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Was he ever elected as a legislator in Pakistan which confers a NPOL pass? Otherwise, I am afraid that we know precious little about the subject barring date of birth, date of accession, and date of death. His alleged oppression along the 60s did not bring the cessation of Nagar's princely state status (which, btw, was the official justification) and the broader politics of the time, that played both in the regional and national level, need to be covered at this page!TrangaBellam (talk) 21:01, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- TrangaBellam, he was elected to the Northern Areas Legislative Council, please see Mir Shaukat Ali Khan, but the point about NPOL is that it allows notability to subjects who cannot otherwise comply with WP:N. Moonraker (talk) 04:01, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
