[edit]If anyone from Australia or anywhere has any knowledge about Sydney Grade cricket then plaease feel welcome to edit some information on this page.
- Based on the way the term in used in the English media I have always been under the impression that "grade cricket" is found throughout Australia. Is this correct? 62.31.55.223 02:41, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Victorian Premier Cricket, for example, is sometimes referred to as "grade cricket" here in England. It may be that this terminology is not actually correct, but it's not uncommon. Loganberry (Talk) 16:27, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- I came here from Terry Jenner's article, which says he played "grade cricket" in Perth (Western Australia). I think grade cricket should be an article that explains how the term is used, correctly or incorrectly, rather than a redirect to this article. Nathanian 17:01, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Grade cricket is generally the term used to describe the highest (regular) level of cricket beneath the state teams. There are state 2nd XIs who might play 5 games a year but generally you play grade cricket in the capital city of your state (Tasmania have more than one grade comp). Country players generally don't get picked from the country - they come into the city to play grade. So to sum it up - grade cricket is the 3rd level of competition and the source for state teams. This page is nothing short of a joke. I came here to learn about Glenn McGrath and all I learnt was that McGrath does not like mosquitos. Does anyone moderate this thing? Ooh Ahh. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.210.205.189 (talk) 14:03, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Langauge
[edit]The language suggests it is a colloquial piece. The phrase "2009/2010 sees Manly-Warringah taking on Bankstown in the final at Blacktown Olympic Park, 9.30 a.m. start. See you there." even makes it seem like a newsletter. Needs fixing.220.239.179.73 (talk) 06:19, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
