Maribor is the only Slovenian club that has managed to qualify for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League
: needs an "as of" statement.- In the background section, I would mention that the European Cup is now known as the Champions' League.
Dalibor Filipović scored the only goal in the first leg in France two minutes before the full-time
: which team did Filipović play for? I can guess, because of the form of the name, but don't make the reader click the link to find out.In the first round, Maribor defeated Dynamo 1–0 in Kiev and topped the table. Ante Šimundža became the first goal scorer for Maribor in the Champions League group stages, when he scored the only goal at Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium in the 73rd minute.
Repetitive; can we combine these sentences?Maribor were eliminated from the competition, finishing in the fourth and last place with four points
: uncited. Not exactly controversial, but it's easy to cite.A Director of Football, Zlatko Zahovič, appointed Darko Milanič as the manager on 29 May 2008
: should this be "The Director of Football", or more likely "Maribor's Director of Football"?Maribor anticipated Palermo in the play-offs
: Can we cut this? It doesn't add anything to the reader's understanding. The Violets
: I would avoid using this, since many readers won't know the nickname; we certainly can't use it with no link or explanation.

- Thanks for the review and copyediting the article, I have fixed all the issues above I guess. By the way, I just found out that several UEFA match reports are dead links since UEFA was messing around with their website, will fix all dead links later today or tomorrow. - Your fixes look good; I tweaked the wording on one change. Promoting to GA. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 11:15, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
