NIC → NIC (disambiguation) – NIC has more weight to referring to Newly industrialized country. The article even has parenthesis around "NIC" because that is what most people refer to these countries as. It is too tedious to rewrite Newly industrialized country every single time, so most people will use and see NIC and search it up. The pre-existing NIC (disambiguation) needs to be deleted because it is only a redirect. NIC can then be made into a redirect for Newly industrialized country instead of serving as an ambiguous reference page for people who search up NIC because it is the acronym/short form of Newly industrialized country. - Oppose not primary usage. Being that we're on computers, the obvious usage is network interface card, but Gscholar, Gbooks and Google show a grabbag of usages. 70.24.248.23 (talk) 07:41, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose - there is clearly no primary topic here. Just because "newly industrialized country" is usually abbreviated to "NIC" doesn't mean that all (or even most) uses of "NIC" refer to "newly industrialized country". 81.142.107.230 (talk) 12:20, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose no evidence that Newly industrialized country is the primary topic. MilborneOne (talk) 18:08, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
