Redirect to this page from Selection process are you kidding everyone????
[edit]!!!!
Seems pretty straight forward to put this under the NCAA Tournament page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Heathebe05 (talk • contribs) 03:54, April 19, 2006 (UTC)
This year..?
[edit]When is it in 2007? I'd like to know, but shouldn't it also say the date in the article? Hangfromthefloor 16:36, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Controversy
[edit]anyone want to mention controversies linked to selection? i.e. teams with high rpi's being left out (Air Force 30 in 2007, Missouri State 21 in 2006) or power conferences getting bids for very low-ranked schools(like stanford in 2007). 205.145.64.64 17:47, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Potentially confusing?
[edit]I wonder if the explanation of power conferences could be improved ... I think it is confusing if you mention the power conferences matching the BCS conferences from football but also include other conferences and do not say which is which ... perhaps it would be better to note the majority of at-large bids come from those six conferences plus the A-10 and CUSA? - I have to agree - the wording is problematic. I'm not sure what point is trying to be made. Mike (talk) 14:55, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Selection Committee Decisions
[edit]The article does not explain how expensive vacations and gifts are used to determine some of the selections... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.139.121.106 (talk) 22:56, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Date constraints?
[edit]I got here from "March Madness" (NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship). The article indicates that the tournament games start after Selection Sunday. What controls the date of Selection Sunday? Thanks -- Jo3sampl (talk) 14:15, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Selection Sunday is the final day of college basketball's pre-tournament "regular season" (which does, however, include "postseason" conference tournaments.) The committee must wait until all pre-tournament games are concluded to finalize their bracket, which includes a handful of championship games of conference tournaments that usually include the ACC, Big Ten, SEC, and A-10. -- MichaelProcton (talk) 19:11, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
End of the S-Curve
[edit]It should probably be noted that as of the 2013 tournament, the committee no longer adheres to the "s-curve" in arranging the bracket, according to its chair: Committee chair defends selections --MichaelProcton (talk) 19:15, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
Selection Committee Needs Updating
[edit]The list is wrong, the current members can be found at: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/champweek2014/story/_/id/10584635/inside-mind-member-ncaa-men-basketball-tournament-selection-committee --→James Kidd (contr/talk/email) 02:12, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
Regions?
[edit]There's no explanation here as to why there are four regions to begin with. With all of the talk of seeding and the S-curve, the sudden mention of "the regions" with no explanation, and then further explanation of how these alleged regions don't even adhere to geography, is strange. Date & Time this year?
[edit]Why is that information censored? Some of us want to watch it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.16.43.77 (talk) 22:19, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
How do they pick play in games and where they are slotted
