Route at Longford Town

[edit]

I am of the belief the N5 (now) starts at its Junction at the N4 on the Longford By-Pass. It may previously have started in the middle of the town in the days before the by-pass and may even gone through the town at some point. I believe the route from the N5 to the town is now the L1175 (Connacht Road) with the signs marked "(N5)" and not "N5" and the google maps has it wrong at the moment. I agree. OpenStreetMap looks to have this right: the N5 begins at Charlotte Brooke Roundabout on the N4, with the the old N5 section from the town centre now numbered L1175. Google Maps has the N5 beginning both at that roundabout and at Earl Street, an "open jaw" that looks like an unlikely route configuration. Declangi (talk) 08:12, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for confirmation, though I'm not necessarily updating the article myself. Some wl. opportunity to/from Charlotte Brooke (?) I would note though! Djm-leighpark (talk) 10:20, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
