Springtime or spring tide?

I wonder if there is not any misunderstanding between spring time and spring tide. The latter has nothing to do with the season. It is just the term to call the highest tide difference, which happens around the time when the sun and moon are more or less aligned. It would make sense that the current roars when the difference between high and low tide is big. But I don't really understand why it would roar during the spring season.
