I'm not positive when Hess started using a rewritten version as their jingle, but they've been using it for well over a decade and may have been using it since the song was new. It would seem highly unlikely that Hess has been using the jingle since 1963, when the song came out. I would even doubt that Hess has been even selling the toy for that long.
