Iron alloys that contain manganese are typically non-magnetic

In the second paragraph, titled "Properties", the very last sentence states: "Mushet steel is non-magnetic." That is followed by [why?] as I have it written here in brackets, except the text is in blue and it is placed as superscript in the line of text.

I don't know at the moment where to go look it up to verify it, but from many decades of experience, most steels that contain manganese are not magnetic, or a better way of stating my observation is that they are not magnetic at room temperature. Steel United States Military helmets of the World War Two era were not magnetic. Linstrum (talk) 01:01, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
