Article title
[edit]Could this title be changed to 'Murders of', rather than 'Deaths of'? Looking at entries on other murders that seems to be a standard title. Pallas Blade (talk) 07:35, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- True. We should move it to 'Deaths of'. Catmando999 Check out his talk page! 08:54, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
Altering direct quotes
[edit]Hello 98.233.160.24, I think I understand what you were wanting to do by changing that quote - to update the page about the causes of death. However, the quote was taken from the police Supt, and we can't change someone's own words - made on public record. We can add more info or remove the quote/replace it with something more accurate, but we can't change the actual quote. I'm about to update the page now with some more info from tonight's ABC 7:30. I imagine myself and others will update and correct the page as info comes to hand. Please feel free to discuss changes to the page here. Pallas Blade (talk) 10:52, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Murder is for the courts?
[edit]User:WWGB, I don't think removing the Australian murder victims category is warranted, or other references to murder. All news reports have police saying the victims died violent deaths. The remains were found in remote locations. It would be safe to assume they weren't self inflicted or accidental.Pallas Blade (talk) 11:56, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- What we have so far is homicide. Murder requires rational intent and is determined by the courts. WWGB (talk) 20:47, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- I added the Australian homicide victims category so that should be good. Catmando999 Check out his talk page! 21:02, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Thanks. Pallas Blade (talk) 22:11, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- Channel 7 had a docu which I watched, called Baby in the Suitcase. The death of the baby was clearly murder, planned i.e. with intent.
- I was struck by two facts. NSW could not establish the ID of "Angel", the murder victim in the Belanglo Forest for years. Not much info was gained until her friend looked at that SA newspaper photo with objects from the suitcase. What luck that this one friend had a newspaper; the grandmother who had sewn the quilt was also in Adelaide, but she missed the news on TV; the images pass by quickly anyway. She must not have subscribed to the one newspaper in Adelaide.
- The fragmentation of news into many channels and the web, with simultaneous shrinkage of newspaper subscriptions means that police cannot access the public for info any more. E.G. When a person gets murdered in NSW but has never lived there it causes drawing blanks.
- We need a nationwide police info website with info from all States to remedy this fragmentation. 2001:8003:A070:7F00:5D22:24AD:1924:E056 (talk) 23:53, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Update.
As may have been expected the person charged with her mothers' murder has also been charged with the murder of Khandalyce Pearce.

Identity theft section
[edit]By the time you get to the end of the article, the "Identity theft" section is redundant. The "Arrests" section just above it says Holdom was "in a relationship with a woman who allegedly hijacked Ms Pearce-Stevenson's identity after she was killed" and "she is believed to be the same woman who impersonated Pearce-Stevenson at a credit union in 2010." It also details the car accident Holdom and the woman were involved in, the fact that she uploaded pictures of Khandalyce to her Facebook page. The "Identity Theft" section then addresses related issues, but with much less detail, eg. "A woman in a wheelchair, accompanied by a man, impersonated Pearce-Stevenson to staff at a credit union in June 2010." I'd suggest it would make more sense to move the Identity theft section further up so it makes sense. Sadiemonster (talk) 15:21, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- Done I agree and have moved it before the suspects. --Scott Davis Talk 22:19, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
New details
[edit]I can't edit the page, so I'll just leave this. 2001:8003:AC4F:BC00:60E8:2D35:782F:9B85 (talk) 04:30, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
title change to "Murders of..."?
[edit]Now that DH has been legally convicted, we should change the article title to "Murders of...". Thoughts?? Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 10:45, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- That is the usual, once a conviction has been recorded. I support the change. WWGB (talk) 11:05, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
