Just a note from the creator

[edit]

Hello everybody. Just thought I should let you all know that as the creator that I have updated and corrected the article as after further research I have found that the reports the murders were linked by DNA in 1990 are based on incorrect information. DNA was only found in Mayo's case in 1997, and there is in fact no evidence anywhere that DNA was ever extracted from Ansell-Lamb's remains. The former boyfriend of Mayo has stated that from what he knows of the investigations they never found DNA in the Ansell-Lamb case. I found out that the erroneous report saying they were linked in 1990 was originally made by Reuters. They had incorrectly assumed and reported that detectives had linked the murders by DNA in 1990, when in fact they had only announced that they suspected they were linked and were merging the enquiries. As a result, the murders of Ansell-Lamb and Mayo have never 100% been conclusively found to be linked, although they are still strongly suspected to be.
