This was obviously written in a hurry; for example most periodicals weren't properly italicized, some words were wrongly italicized and there are some corrections that need making. For example, when fleeing he was not taken into custody when arriving at the depot in Chicago at all. In fact, he called a Chicago newspaper and said he'll give them a confession if they paid him. That paper was owned by Hearst who happily paid him. Also,his staff even went out to talk to him in a hotel where they put him up, which was rare. They usually made them come to the paper instead.
