I have a question.

[edit]

Greetings! I have a little question. Once this page will be approved and moved to mainspace, would i be allowed to reupload File:Murder of Kiaya Campbell.png under fair use for visual identification because she is deceased and there is no free images available of her? It's important to understand that fair use and the Wikipedia concept of non-free content are not exactly the same thing, and it's Wikipedia's non-free content use policy that matters. Wikipedia policy is intentionally set up to be more restrictive than fair use; so, simply arguing fair use is usually considered to be insufficient. If you feel the file you want to use satisfies all ten non-free content use criteria, you can upload it and use it: just makes sure you follow the guidance given in WP:NFC#Implementation. If someone else, however, disagrees with your assessment, they can challenge the non-free use. If that happens, you might be expected to establish a broader consensus in favor of the particular use. WP:NFC#UUI lists some reasons while non-free files often end up being challenged but there's also some general information given in WP:AAFFD. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:57, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is Murder of Kiaya Campbell really unnotable?

[edit]

Greetings again! The YouTube video that Explore With Us made about this case two months ago has received 7.6 million views. This makes it notable, in my opinion, because more than 7 million people know about her murder, and that number is increasing by thousands every day. Plus there are other videos about this case such as this which received 175 thousand views in six days.

I know, the sources that were listed in the article were too local but are you going to ignore all of these big videos on youtube? Murder of Kiaya Campbell gained notability primarily from YouTubers rather than from news coverage. I think it deserves its own article.
