Picture

[edit]

I added a "fair use" pic as this article is probably the closest we will come to a biography of Farkhunda. Philafrenzy (talk) 23:27, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Full name in title

[edit]

I suggest using the victim's full name in the title. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.76.45.140 (talk) 05:38, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unless I'm mistaken, Farkhunda was her full name. -Kudzu1 (talk) 06:09, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know of any culture/people where one name only would be the official designation of a person. Anyway, even this article gives her full name at the very beginning. 37.76.45.140 (talk) 06:24, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The vast majority of sources call her Farkhunda, the name she reportedly went by. It is not at all unusual in several cultures, especially in Asia (Indonesia being perhaps the most prominent example), for people to be known only by their given name. -Kudzu1 (talk) 19:33, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
WP:COMMONNAME is the general policy - we go with what most sources say.
-- Aronzak (talk) 20:40, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me, are you aware, how an astonishingly stupid argument you made? Surely you will get a lot higher count by searching simply for a given name only. 37.76.43.171 (talk) 05:27, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

NYT's article

[edit]

Farkhunda didn't merely lost balance on the roof.

[edit]

The article states that Farkhunda lost her balance while fighting to stay conscious, and slipped down the rooftop and back into the crowd.

This is false. She fell because someone was bashing her with a huge wooden pole as others were throwing planks and sticks at her.

It happens 3 minutes 50 seconds in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28u4ItL02Fo — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.181.33 (talk) 00:35, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I edited the article with the acurate description. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.181.33 (talk) 00:39, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
