Names
[edit]The reliable sources in the article name the two suspects; one title even names them. May I ask why the names were so vociferously removed when we have suspects named here, here, here (I am unfamiliar with this case but the article presents it as ongoing) just as recent examples, and there's even been consensus at Death of Sarah Everard (in a country with strict contempt of court rules) to name the suspect. I understand some editors/vandals have had a fascination with a particular aspect of the two suspects, but if the pair's names are presented neutrally and factually like the suspects in these other cases, what is the issue? Agreed, let's include their names it's mentioned in the source material it belongs. I'll go ahead and add the names. Pformenti (talk) 00:34, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
Murder Category
[edit]There is a conversation about whether or not categorizing this and many other articles as murder is appropriate. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:2021_Atlanta_spa_shootings#Category:murder I welcome anyone's input.Yousef Raz (talk) 21:23, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Is the section of "Background of victim" really necessary?
[edit]The informations there serve no purpose in this incident except it looks like an attempt of character assassination Someone97816 (talk) 00:28, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- I agree. The article is about her death, not a biography. It infers victim shaming. WWGB (talk) 00:39, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- I’m late to this, but agreed. TheXuitts (talk) 07:46, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
I’’m really not so sure it is character assassination as it is background info. She was found mentally incompetent of torturing and killing her infant, and her doing so and the subsequent trial garnered attention. Mentioning this does not infer she deserved what happened to her. La rodman (talk) 02:55, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- I repeat, this article is not a biography. The infant death had nothing to do with Lee's killing, so it is utterly irrelevant here. WWGB (talk) 03:00, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- even if not character assassination (I agree it is unquestioned background info that she killed her child, but it is certainly contested if she should be held liable due to her mental state), since the page is supposed to purely be about the killing of Ee Lee herself it could be seen to take away from what the page is supposed to represent to mention the killing of her infant. if the page was about Ee Lee as a person as opposed to the killing, like when sometimes criminal perpetrators or victims of crimes get short bio pages, then it would make sense to include. 2600:1702:5F0:1B00:E12D:96FE:C003:B8E7 (talk) 16:00, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
