Page move proposal
[edit]This page should be moved to Murder of Andrew Kissel because his murder is notable not him as a person, although the lead does not currently reflect this. His name did not make headlines until he was killed three years after the highly publicized murder of his brother Robert (see Nancy Kissel murder case). momoricks 06:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. This falls under WP:ONEEVENT, which says "If reliable sources cover the person only in the context of a particular event, and if that person otherwise remains, or is likely to remain, low profile, then a separate biography is unlikely to be warranted." The event of his murder is what is notable in this case, but possibly only notable itself because of the murder of his brother. The article alleges details about issues with finances and money-handling, but is unsourced and was not notable in and of itself to warrant an article at that time. The murder is what should be covered. Wildhartlivie (talk) 07:30, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Comment In support of this, it may be considered for the A. Kissel article to be merged into the Nancy Kissel murder case article. If the murder and subsequent trial of the wife is what's notable, then only one article about it seems warranted. I'm afraid I'm not crazy about the proposed name, Murder of Andrew Kissel. It sounds just a bit sensational, like a newspaper front page headline. However, a search did yield at least one other example of this type of titling for this article. So maybe I'm corrected. .`^) Paine Ellsworthdiss`cuss (^`. 09:47, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Comment: I agree that Murder of Andrew Kissel sounds like a tabloid term, but I'm not in favor of merging it into Nancy Kissel murder case, another inappropriately named page. Yes, Andrew Kissel's murder is notable because the media loved the unusual "two murdered brothers" aspect, but I'm unaware of any direct connection between Nancy Kissel and Andrew Kissel's death. momoricks 06:23, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Move completed. momoricks 04:42, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
