Reception section

[edit]

There is no consensus yet on adding Reception sections prior to a movie opening. Discussion ongoing at WP:MOSFILM talk page. --Tenebrae (talk) 08:01, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Shilling for Disney

[edit]

The marketing section include promotional language for an online game, most of which is online after the movie's release. It is Muppets-theme but not specifically Muppets Most Wanted-branded. It also seems to run afoul of WP:FILM guidelines that say we don't list normal, non-notable marketing efforts. --Tenebrae (talk) 18:16, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Okay, am I the only person who thinks it's fucking insane that a shortish article about a Muppets movie contains over 100 citations? No wonder Wikipedia has to keep asking for more money to host all this overkill.

When people insist on citations for things that seem simple like the runtime or the cast list the list of references get very long very fast. Once the film is released you could probably consolidate and remove a lot of the citations for the cast, and other references that were needed to confirm things before the film itself confirmed the facts.
In the case of other film articles if a book is published that is another way to consolidate sources or clear out excessive references. As for performance people always worry too much about the wrong things, see WP:FAST WP:SLOW, and do you seriously think they'd stop asking for money even if they had enough?
You might also want to sign your comments by adding ~~~~ after what you have written, and the site will automatically convert it into a signature. -- 109.77.148.112 (talk) 23:45, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Opening Friday

[edit]

Sorry, looked at the wrong edit diff. I actually agree the "opening Friday" edit is more specific and better. -- 109.77.148.112 (talk) 00:10, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also the Wikipedia diff tool is awful, you should be able to change the line breaks without it then being incredibly difficult anyone to compare to previous revisions, but unfortunately that is not the case. I'm taking a break, I might have another go at the article in about an hour. -- 109.77.148.112 (talk) 00:13, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: as you have not requested a change.
If you want to suggest a change, please request this in the form "Please replace XXX with YYY" or "Please add ZZZ between PPP and QQQ".
Please also cite reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. - Arjayay (talk) 14:35, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Background Muppets

[edit]

In this edit I removed the Background Muppets section. Per WP:NOTINDISCRIMINATE, we are not an indiscriminate collection of information. Nowhere else do we log background performers, as in both film and television articles, we focus on significant cast. Extras, be they human or Muppet, are not noteworthy, which is why they don't typically receive film or TV credit unless they speak. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:48, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
