[edit]This page needs to be deleted. There is already an article about this or it can be mentioned in the article that exists. See Quito (canton). Digirami (talk) 07:28, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- That or find a way to distinguish between the both.Digirami (talk) 07:30, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes. It's true that the two subjects overlap. My idea when I created this page was to write here about the structure and organization of the municipality (the agencies, organs and processes within the municipality), which is a slightly different concept from that of the canton. I didn't expand the page much though. --Gsfod (talk) 07:41, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps a rename would be more appropiate. The DMQ is the municipality, and it has it's own article. That could lead to confusion. Since this article has more to do with the governance of the canton, maybe Government of Quito should be the right title for this page. Or everything could just be put into one article (but that would depend on how much info you put in here). Digirami (talk) 12:29, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]Canton is the administrative term which can be interswaped with municipality. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HarveyPrototype (talk • contribs) 02:54, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- I suggest a merge in the other direction; the canton page is better linked through Wikidata (to 14, rather than 1, language pages), older (2005 versus 2009), better-referenced, broader and better integrated (for example, listing on Cantons of Ecuador). Klbrain (talk) 15:24, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
