Criticism section needed
[edit]There are protests held against this every year. Someone should add it in http://www.abendzeitung-muenchen.de/inhalt.sicherheitskonferenz-in-muenchen-neue-strategie-der-siko-gegner-protest-in-fussgaengerzone.d062afcf-bca4-4ea5-9e54-305330d867cb.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.127.8.13 (talk) 15:38, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Conference 2020
[edit]Since I don't have the time to revise the whole article, which is definitely necessary, I just post a quite valuable link here: A Guardian-article about "Westlessness" the topic-theme of the conference 2020. --Ai24 (talk) 02:01, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
Split suggestion
[edit]The article contains a lot of specific content on past conferences, which should be split out into one or multiple articles. BegbertBiggs (talk) 23:18, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

Outdated Events / Event or Award?
[edit]Hello Wikipedians,
in updating the events section i wondered, if the outdated events 'cyber security summit' and 'energy security summit' might be transferred to a 'former events' article.
In addition, I'd like to suggest to also move the full length copy of the (former) 'core group meetings' (now 'munich leaders meetings') to a new article and leave a short version of it.
Lastly, I'd like to mention, that 'munich young leaders' is an award, so (together with the two other not yet mentioned MSC awards 'edwald von kleist' and 'john mccain') the topic 'awards' should make sense.
What do you think?! Pls answer here.
Cheers, Tom ThomaSheldon (talk) 08:50, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
Split: Munich Security Conference - History of Events
[edit]This split request fulfills the two main reasons for splitting material out from an article, as mentioned in the Help Article [Wikipedia:Splitting].
The split request concerns two topics from the section Other Events: 1. Cyber Security Summit and 2. Energy Security Summit
The split is requested due to 1. size -> The specific material enlarges the whole article significantly, so that it becomes relatively too large and 2. content relevance -> The specific material within the concerned article is inappropriate for the article due to being outdated
Thus, this split is proposed in order to preserve the referenced content, but also to prevent readers from being confused by obsolete or irrelevant information.
Neither is a page move indicated nor ambiguity the case.
Of course, Wikipedia’s licensing requirements will be complied. ThomaSheldon (talk) 20:04, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- I have undone the split as premature. First, I strongly suggest waiting more than two days before unilaterally acting on your own split proposal. How about letting others actually comment? Second, I do not believe that the content is too much for the current article, and is better presented here than as a standalone. Third, content being out of date is not a reason to split, it is a reason to update - why does that have to involve establishing a separate article? --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 16:55, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response! Apart from already having asked the community in september (with no response), i will, as suggested, update the article directly and hope, this will suit better. ThomaSheldon (talk) 06:37, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
Splitted content: historical MSC events
[edit]Text and/or other creative content from this version of Munich Security Conference was copied or moved into Draft:Munich Security Conference – History of Events with this edit on 05.02.2023. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists. |
In order not to be forgotten, an article containing past events and distinct formats that transformed, evolved and/or changed names and purposes in the course of time has been created.
Please feel free to help editing the article before adding it to the main article space! Thank you. ThomaSheldon (talk) 17:56, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
