Kolkata monorail

Kolkata monorail is NOT the first one. It is still being planned, Mumbai has already started construction of the monorail. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:57, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Info in section 2 (Lines)

Please check the veracity of the info in Section 2. Which lines are to be built first? I think most mainstream news sources report that the Chembur-Wadala-Jacob Circle section is the first to be built, and is indeed already UC. However, this section implies that it is in the second phase, to be built after the first one - which this section reports to be from Malabar Hill to BKC to Haji Ali to Jacob Circle to Wadala to Sion Hospital/Dharavi. I have not come across any info about these locations having any immediate plans for monorail service.

Motivation

Curious what the reason for building the monorail is. What is existing transport demand like in the corridor? Why not build light rail or subway instead? -- Beland (talk) 16:48, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

Yes, there must be references on WHY a monorail was built.68.58.224.249 (talk) 04:17, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
