[edit]- In the lede (first paragraph), I suggest starting with a concise sentence that answers the question, "What is a multifactorial disease?" For example, "Multifactorial diseases are caused by multiple genetic and environmental factors", which is the first sentence in a book chapter on the topic: Fialkowski, Allison, T. Mark Beasley, and Hemant K. Tiwari. "Multifactorial Inheritance and Complex Diseases." In Emery and Rimoin's Principles and Practice of Medical Genetics and Genomics, edited by Reed E. Pyeritz, Bruce R. Korf, and Wayne W. Grody, 7th ed., 323-358. London: Academic Press, 2019. - Mark D Worthen PsyD (talk) (I am a man. - First off, I would like to thank the author for the effort, this article is needed and I'm surprised we don't already have one. Secondly, I think it's important to clarify and uniformize the nomenclatura, particularly "multifactorial disease", which is used in the lede, vs "multifactorial disorder", which is used throughout the rest of the article. Please pick the most common one as the main term, and put the synonym under parentheses in the lede. Looking quickly at pubmed [1][2], it seems both terms are in equal usage currently, and with a similar upward trend, so you can just pick whichever one you prefer. Thirdly, the section named "Multifactorial Disorders; Continuous or Discontinuous" is not appropriate, please clarify what the section is about (and remove multifactorial disorders, this is redundant). Thank you again and please keep up the good work! --Signimu (talk) 23:16, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
