Muley Jat a distinct community

[edit]

There are clear references to the Muley Jat in Rivalry and Brotherhood Politics in the Life of Farmers in North India by Dipankar Gupta Oxford India. There are also references to the community in Tribes and Castes of North Western Provinces by William Crook, see page 19 Volume 3. The term is restricted to the Jat Muslims of Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh. There are also references in the Gazetteers of Meerut and Muzaffarnagar, as well as Rohtak, Hissar and Karnal. Furthermore there are recent references to the community in Pakistan in T N Madan's book.

Please reference it then. I have found no valid references. Also, do not remove the template again, or I will be forced to issue formal warnings. Remember, the oness is on you to supply valid references. Thanks--Sikh-History 10:49, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are clear references in Rivalry and Brotherhood Politics in the Life of Farmers in North India by Dipankar Gupta Oxford India, at pages 2, 34, 44 to 47, 50, 57, 60, 63 to 65, 82 to 85, 87, 124 and 160. There are extensive references to this community in contemporary and earlier British colonial literature. A further reference to the ones already given is page 136 of the Rose's Glossary of Tribes and Castes of Punjab Volume 2.These Urdu speaking Muslim Jaats, as distinct from Punjabi speaking Muslim Jatts. I am a bit mystefied and very suspicious of your motives. Despite being given repeated references, you seem to be stuck on a single sentence. Can you tell me honestly why you want this deleted.--WALTHAM2 (talk) 13:42, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well add it in, in the proper format with ISBN numbers, page, chapter and a link. Thanks --Sikh-History 14:31, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Will put both ISNN numbers and page references tomorrow. --WALTHAM2 (talk) 15:29, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Both are same, so merging this article with Muslim Jat is the best option. Nadiallah (talk) 14:06, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
