Red velvet Mozzetta

[edit]

Users are inserting into the article a phrase that says, "the mozzetta has not been used by the pope since Paul VI". Yet, if you go to the articles of popes John Paul I and John Paul II you'll see pictures of them wearing the mozzetta.

The mozzetta that Benedict used in December 2005 was the velvet mozzetta, with the white edge. That type of mozzetta had not been seen since Paul VI. But to say that the popes have not worn any type of mozzetta since Paul VI is wrong. It is just the type of Mozzetta, (the velvet and white edge one) which was "revived" by Benedict XVI.<<Coburn_Pharr>> 07:05, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A developer in Winchester has built a block of flats called Mozzetta, Address: Kings Head Yard, Winchester, Hampshire, England. We have been trying to figure out how this relates to an article of papal fashion!

White Easter Mozetta

[edit]

BXVI reintroduced this Easter the papal white Easter mozetta. See "Addendum to the Triduum Recap: The Return of the White Easter Mozzetta". New Liturgical Movement. 2008-03-23. Retrieved 2008-03-24.. Gugganij (talk) 12:27, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blue Mozzetta?

[edit]

I question the caption of the middle image. Is that a blue mozetta or is that the irmine hood of a cappa magna with blue lining? MishaPan (talk) 01:41, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sign of authority?

[edit]

Article states that the Mozetta is generally seen as a symbol of jurisdiction or authority. Is there any support for this statement? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.228.116.135 (talk) 09:31, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

clarify "simple priest"

[edit]

I find:

"The mozzetta is not worn by simple priests. Some religious orders have a mozzetta as part of their religious habit; ..."

Religious orders have priests in their membership. Did the reference to "simple priest" here refer to DIOCESAN priests, as opposed to priests who belong to orders? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 15:57, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
